DAY 3 OF 3

ADVICE

Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. (1 Timothy 6: 6-8)

The book of Proverbs was written as a book of advice to Solomon by his father, David. Likewise, Paul, as the spiritual father of Timothy, gives counsel to Timothy. Good advice is important to listen to and heed.

Advice will really work out if we want to open our hearts, and humbly pay attention to every sentence of that counsel. Conversely a fool, that is the person who hardened his heart, would never want to receive any advice. Pride puffs us up, but it is a lie to believe that we know everything..

Even a small child can be used by God to change our lives.

When a sermon is delivered at a service, or perhaps a small group worship, how do we respond it? Because through preachers, God is advising us. When we read the Bible, try to notice the Lord's advice. We should take it and start recording it in our minds. The more we record God's advice, the richer we will be for heavenly wisdom.

Taking and acting on good advice directs us toward a right path.
