BE EVERYONE’S MODEL

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

The Apostle Paul was guided by the Spirit of God when he wrote this particular message to Timothy about how to choose the church’s overseers. Of course, considering his young age, this was not an easy task for Timothy. There may have been some who doubted Timothy and his credibility as he was considered someone with little experience. Therefore, Paul not only wrote the requirements of the church’s overseers, but also advised how they should live. 

The most important thing is not how other people around us live. The most important thing is how we, the children of God, live in front of other people. We should be the first in terms of being a model for many people because of how much we are loved by God. From that love, we should love and care for others.

There are many people with influence in this world, particularly in social media. This influence can have either a positive or negative impact on our generation. This life is a journey. One day this journey on earth will be completed and be continued by the next generation. What can we pass on to them? It is not enough just to give them advice. This generation needs concrete examples that can be imitated by them. This world needs Jesus.

What kind of models are we to this generation? Be a model of the doers of God's Word in our lives. People who practice the word of God will always be supported by the Lord. They will experience what God has promised for them in His word. They will experience blessings, miracles, and victories that can be testified to many people.

Act carefully according to the word of God.
