Forty Days Without Fear

DAY 40 OF 40

A LIFESTYLE OF WORSHIP OVERCOMES FEAR

It’s clear when we interact with people in our communities that many people are living in fear. Some of the biggest social issues of our time are anxiety, depression, fear of the future and fear of failure. A generation of fear could easily be replaced by a generation of faith if we recognised that the answer to all these fears is the fear of God!

The fear of God is true worship; it’s a recognition of God’s greatness, majesty and power in the face of our circumstances. It’s the only antidote to the fear epidemic that is stopping so many people from stepping into God’s good plan for their lives. Today’s Scripture shows us that Heaven is a place of eternal worship; a place where God is known and revered forever by those who have experienced His love and grace, and gladly embrace the fear of Him.

The message of Jesus is so inclusive that anyone who wants to come into relationship with Him is welcomed. Our role as Christians is to extend that invitation to the people in our world; to play our part in seeing a whole generation rise up that fears God and stands in awe of who He is.

It is not only the Church, but society as a whole, that needs a generation of people to rise up with a fearless spirit, declaring that fear is a liar, that perfect love casts out fear, and that this perfect love is available to everyone, regardless of their past, background or insecurities.

Action: Let’s spend some time in worship and thanksgiving for all we’ve received from Jesus, then let’s look for opportunities today to show, and share, that message of love. Pray for a generation to rise up that understands what it means to truly fear God.
