Beyond Priceless: Who God Is When I Feel... Sample
When I Feel Unworthy, God Is My SAVIOR
Did you know that feeling unworthy creates a path for Jesus? In fact, you can’t be rescued until you acknowledge that you’ll never be worth anything on your own. We were all born unworthy because of sin that separates us from God and leads to death. There is nothing you can do to make yourself right in God’s eyes. Christianity is the belief that you are saved, not by your own worth, but by faith alone in Jesus.
Every other world religion focuses on you becoming worthy, or good enough to deserve heaven. They might have an element of truth, but when you look closely, the primary focus is on what man can do, instead of what Jesus has done. It’s been said that Christianity is the only religion where you can be “bad” and get into heaven. No wonder people are attracted to it. Salvation through Jesus has nothing to do with you trying to work your way to where God is; it’s about God coming down to where you are.
We can’t begin to fathom what it feels like to be worthy: worth is part of God’s being. It starts with Him and is a gift only He can give.
Dear Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world,
You, the King of Kings. are worthy. Worthy of our praise. Worthy to be magnified. You put meaning to those words. Worthiness is anchored in who You are alone. I love that! We praise You, Worthy One, for all that You are and all that You have done. I believe the word worthy shouts Your Name.
Jesus proved He was worthy by living a sinless life in a human body. He endured temptation and pain just like we experience, but He was the only human who never sinned. Then, He conquered death and rose again, proving that He was more than human, He was God. He is the only one who can make me feel worthy. He transfers His righteousness to me when I confess my sins and trust Him as my Savior. Until you surrender to Jesus, you will never stop feeling unworthy. If you have never known God as your Savior, He made a way to transfer His worth to you. It’s as easy as A-B-C.
1. Admit that you are a sinner.
2. Believe that Jesus died for your sins.
3. Confess that you need Him to make you worthy of salvation.
