Unlocking Your Daughter’s True PotentialSample
Other Moms Are Not Better Than You
Moms, we can help our girls to increase their understanding of how God wants them to lead. God made men and women different, and those differences were intentional. He did that on purpose, and leadership, male and female, is meant to be complimentary, not combative.
When we stand in agreement with that, we’re gonna give our girls permission to lead from their specific set of giftings, their strengths, their values. And THAT is how we’re going to teach them to walk in their life purpose and make a difference in the world.
In yesterday’s video, you learned about how God created man and He created woman. You learned how His plan for the difference between boys and girls is intentional and complimentary. You may have also been able to relate to the female part of the brain that tends to overanalyze things and the part of the brain that is hard to shut down. Have you ever had the nagging thought that all of the other moms you know are doing it better than you? Well…..
Let’s get one thing straight first...
Other moms are NOT better than you.
They’re not “perfect” either. They’ve just discovered how to own their influence and apply a few key principles most of us haven’t learned yet.
I’m going to continue to walk you through these principles because I want you to take your relationship with your daughter and your mentorship to the next level.
Because your girl is worth more than she knows.
What you need to raise your girl has already been given to you. You just need to look inside, find it, and coax it out of hiding.
The great thing about it is that we can do it together. We can answer this call on our lives with boldness and, dare I say it, enthusiasm!
I used to dread thinking about how I was going to be the mother my girl needs.
Now I approach the responsibility of teaching that wonderful creature from a place of genuine excitement and trust that God had it totally handled when he picked me for the job.
And He did when He chose you too.
Ephesians 2:10 tells us exactly that:
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
So what do you say, Mama? Let’s get after it! Let’s let our girls see us OWN our influence, not only because we are called to it and will equip ourselves to do it,
But because our girls flat out need us to.
They’re counting on us. The threat they face is real.
And they need mothers who will join together to build them up and stand with them to make this world a better place.
