MOSES: MANAGING YOUR TEAM’S TALENT
READ: Exodus 36:1–38
We have been seeing that God gives natural talents to all of us. The apostle Paul tells us that God also gives every believer spiritual gifts to be used to build His kingdom (Romans 12:3–8). For these talents and gifts to be effectively harnessed, their recipients must be given guidance and direction. Our text covers the construction of the tabernacle by Bezalel and his assistants. God has assigned Moses to build this tent and given him clear directions about how it is to be built—including very specific details about the materials, design, and artistic elements. Then God provides people like Bezalel with talents and gifts—and stirs up their hearts to do the work—but He still gives Moses the details and charges him with organizing and overseeing the workers to get the task done.
Leaders are charged to be talent managers. Each of our team members is uniquely talented and skilled. Effective and wise leaders can help them identify their abilities, provide opportunities to develop them, and manage them to accomplish team tasks. According to the reading, how did the people help the skilled workers? How can you become better at managing your team’s talent?

About this Plan
The Bible doesn’t discuss leadership like a popular business book. However, since God is the creator of everything that exists as well as the rules and processes by which everything works, the Scriptures do provide principles and examples that give us insight and wisdom into effective leadership. The social and cultural backgrounds of the Bible are different than ours, but the Scriptures contain truth that transcends time and space.
