Love God Greatly: Words Matter

DAY 25 OF 26

In this world there are many causes we can use our voices for good and speak up for those who can't. We have a younger generation coping with bullying at schools. There are minorities being prosecuted, incarcerated and killed in several countries. We see abusive relationships, people destroying other people physically and emotionally.

God wants His people to be a voice for those who can’t speak up for themselves; He wants us to be an advocate on their behalf. An advocate that will stand up and fight for justice and do the right thing, even if that's uncomfortable or inconvenient. The Bible says, “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.” - Proverbs 31:8-9.

It is our Christian duty to speak up for those who don't have a voice. We can't turn a blind eye to injustice. We can´t remain silent when we see someone infringing on the rights of others.

Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” When we don't speak up for those who have no voice, we are contributing to the spread of evil in this world.

What people do you have around you who need your voice? How can you do good and correct oppression? Pray and think about ways to reach out to others, speak up for them and defend their rights. Be a voice for the voiceless.

Heavenly Father, I don't want to just watch when people around me are hurting, being bullied or have their rights infringed. Help me to speak up for those who can't defend themselves. Help me to be brave, strong and courageous and help those who are in need. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly: Words Matter

In this 4 week study, we will dig into God’s Word and learn what He says about the words we speak to ourselves, to others, and words that change the world. We will learn to honor God and others with the words that we speak. We pray this study gives us great insight into how we can consistently speak words that give life and transform lives.
