Free For All: GalatiansSample
Galatians 4: Reading this chapter is difficult because you’re reading someone’s mail from an ancient world. Nonetheless, if you can put on a Jewish yarmulke, you will hear Paul’s passion and brilliance. He was the first to preach Christ to the Galatians and the first to plant a church among them. Yet, they had been seduced by other teachers to abandon the simple faith he taught them. So Paul dips back into the Old Testament, using a brilliant metaphor of two matriarchs of Israel to prove how much better grace is than law.
Key Verse: Galatians 4:4-5, “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.”
