DAY 8 OF 8

Be wise. Learn from mistakes.

We all struggle with making the same wrong choice more than once. But, we can grow in wisdom when we stop making that wrong choice.

The Bible verse, Proverbs 26:11, is a super gross one, isn’t it? But it teaches a strong lesson.

Wrong choices are not healthy. They’re not good to repeat. In fact, the Bible says making the same wrong choice over and over is as gross and foolish as when a dog throws up—then eats its own vomit! Gross. Wrong. Don’t do it!

Watch the video, then use the Bible verse Proverbs 26:11 to play What’s Missing? It will help you remember that making the same wrong choices over and over is absolutely not good for you!

What’s Missing?

1. Ask your family or friends to play with you.

2. Read all of Proverbs 26:11 to them.

3. Read Proverbs 26:11 again, but leave a word out.

4. The first person to guess which word is missing is the winner.

5. Keep playing the game until everyone gets a turn to read.

Talk It Over: What wrong choice or action do you keep making? Ask God to give you the wisdom to stop making that choice. Ask Him for forgiveness, and turn away from it just like you’d turn away from a pile of vomit!

Day 7

About this Plan

Wise Guys

Can kids really make wise choices? Yes! True wisdom comes from God. It’s a journey kids can take with God cheering them on as they walk in His way. For Parents: Your child will have a deeper understanding of each day’s reading and questions if you complete this Bible Plan with them. This plan includes several games to play for verse memorization. You may want to supervise use of materials.
