DAY 2 OF 8

Be wise. Learn God’s way.

When you learn and memorize things at school, you get smarter and smarter. When you learn and memorize things from God’s book, the Bible, you get wiser and wiser!

Don’t say, “Only smart people can figure out how to make wise choices, so I can’t do it.” Not true! God gives wisdom to anyone who asks for it.

Don’t say, “I don’t need help from God or the Bible—I already know what I need to do because I’m smart.” Not true, again! Even the very smartest people in the world need wisdom from God to know which paths to take in life.

Remember: you can’t get wise in a snap. It’s something you’ll work at your whole life. The first step is choosing Jesus as your leader and number one friend. An excellent next step is memorizing God’s Word, the Bible!

Watch the video and play Chart Attack to help you memorize Proverbs 3:6 and remember that you can follow God’s wise way in everything you do.

Chart Attack

1. Get a paper and something to write with.

2. Write the Bible verse, Proverbs 3:6, across the top of the paper.

3. Draw a line down the middle of the paper, from the top to the bottom.

4. On one side of the chart, write wise choices that follow God’s path.

5. On the other side, write foolish choices that don’t follow God’s path.

Talk It Over: Have you ever wondered what was the right thing to do or say in a situation? How can you seek God’s will, like Proverbs 3:6 says, so you’ll know which path to take in tricky situations?

Can kids really make wise choices? Yes! True wisdom comes from God. It’s a journey kids can take with God cheering them on as they walk in His way. For Parents: Your child will have a deeper understanding of each day’s reading and questions if you complete this Bible Plan with them. This plan includes several games to play for verse memorization. You may want to supervise use of materials.
