Kids Who Are Wise Beyond Their Years Muestra
A Day in the Life of Jarius’ daughter
I’m 12-years-old and I died today. Yes, you read that correctly. I’ve been ill for a while and today my dad decided to take action to help me get better. He’s the leader of our local synagogue and he heard that Jesus was in town. We’ve heard a lot about this man named Jesus. He’s a miracle worker and my dad had faith that Jesus could heal me through the power of God.
I was near death when my father left my side. By the time he arrived to Jesus, he received word that I was already dead. He fell down and worshiped Jesus anyway. As my dad was walking with Jesus, a woman was healed right in front of him. He was an eyewitness of Jesus’ power.
Jesus turned to my dad and said, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
Jesus came to me, along with Peter, James, John and my parents. He ordered the people outside to stop wailing. He said, “She is not dead but asleep.” They laughed at him.
Then my life changed. Jesus took my hand and said, “My child, get up!” I felt my spirit return and I stood up. I heard Jesus tell my parents to give me something to eat. They were astonished that I was alive and well. We all stood there stunned.
What happened next was so strange. Jesus ordered us not to tell anyone what had happened. It seemed like we should tell everyone of the life-altering miracle He had just performed. My dad assured me that someday they would know. Right now, it was important that people focus on Jesus’ message and not get preoccupied with the miracles.
For me, it’s a day I will always remember. I experienced death and then the hand of a healer raised me back to life. I will forever be grateful to the great Healer.
