The Truth Project Scriptural DevotionMuestra
God is the source and center of all things, the One in whom "we live and move and have our being" (ACT.17.28). It follows that knowing God-- knowing Him, not as an object or a fact, but as a person within the context of an intimate personal relationship--is the ultimate goal of our existence. This, as Jesus said, is what it means to have eternal life: not merely everlasting life, but a living connection with the eternal Creator.
Do I understand the privilege God extends to me by inviting me into a personal relationship with Himself? God of the universe, I realize that my small and feeble mind cannot begin to grasp the fullness of who You are. But I do know that You have called me to Yourself. Even this knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it (PSA.139.6). I can respond only by saying yes to Your invitation. Make me Your child. My goal is to know even as I am known (1CO.13.12) and to return Your love with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength (MAT.22.37).
