Counterfeit

DÍA 33 DE 35

Written by Alex, age 15 from Milledgeville, Ga

Right now, my faith in God is strong and is growing, but it was not always like this. For many years there was something missing in my relationship with God. Then one day I went to church, and that day changed my life. We were talking about reading our Bibles, and I realized I have never sat down and read my Bible. So, from that day I started reading the Bible every day, and soon enough, my relationship with God grew stronger. Now every year I read something new to grow in my faith. A few years ago, it was reading two chapters of the Bible a day. Last year I read a devotional, and I read a book to understand the Bible better. I have learned that reading my Bible regularly is really helpful because it has strengthened my faith. I have found comfort and peace when I needed it, and learned to trust God’s love more. Creating habits, like reading devotions or your Bible, can help you grow in your faith just like I have.

Today, try reading a chapter of John to learn more about Jesus’s love for you.

Counterfeit

We know that anything of value probably has a counterfeit version out there. The same is true for our faith. Maybe copying the behaviors of other believers was a great place to start your faith journey, but how can we move beyond copying Christians to following Jesus? How do we make our faith our own? The difference between a counterfeit faith and an authentic faith is growth and heart change.
