Reading the Bible is Like Eating Food
Jesus says in Matthew 4:4, “Man does not live by bread alone but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Like physical food that nourishes our body, believers need spiritual food to mature in their faith.
How do we eat food? We eat regularly. We enjoy meals with our families and communities. When we consume our spiritual food, we should do the same.
It’s important to share our spiritual food with other believers and build a habit of regularly listening to the Bible.
Because every word is our food, we can’t just keep reading the same verses that we like. We need to be consuming the whole Bible, again and again, to help us grow.
