(Be) Blessed: Creating a Covenant Lifestyle With GodMuestra
Who doesn’t love the idea of being blessed? Whether it’s about our health, our homes, our relationships or our future, we all desire blessings in our lives.
If you struggle to believe the Lord desires to bless you, it may be that you’re still trying to grasp how much He loves you and desires to care for you. Perhaps the struggle is rooted in past disappointments that caused skepticism or even distrust. If we can move past these doubts, we will realize He’s not just a good God, but a God with whom it is good to be in agreement. He loves to bless His children. He only requires that we know Him and acknowledge Him for exactly who He is.
Throughout scripture we see God reveal Himself to His people demonstrating His character, nature, and intent towards us. By understanding the names of God from His Word, we can better understand who God is.
Elohim - Creator God
The God who created you knows you by name. He was there at the very beginning and will continue walking with you into eternity.
El Roi - The God Who Sees
Not only does God know you, but He also sees you even when you feel overlooked.
El Shaddai - God Almighty
God holds all authority and deserves the place of lordship in our lives, but it’s up to us to decide if we’re going to acknowledge Him as the Almighty.
Jehovah Rapha - The God who Heals
Though perfection was lost in the garden, God has the authority and desire to bring us back. He still heals bodies, minds, and hearts.
Yahweh Jireh - The Lord Will Provide
The Lord is our provider. The future tense “will provide” is a faith-filled declaration that shows us that God intends to continue to provide for us.
Yahweh Shammah - The Lord is There
God is with you always. He never leaves your side.
Jehovah Nissi - The Lord my Banner
To be under a banner of something is to allow it to define you and to willfully align your identity with it.
Jehovah Raah - The Lord my Shepherd
Sheep depend on their shepherd for guidance, protection, and care. How much more does our Heavenly Father want to guide, protect, and care for you?
El Elyon - Most High God
God is holy and deserves not just a high place in our lives but the most high, elevated above everything else.
Looking at these names and characteristics of God, which one are you most grateful for today? Which one do you need God to be for you right now?
