Reading With the People of God - #5 We Believe.Muestra
Memorization Challenge of the Month:
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Reading with the People of God Primer:
Today's readings invite us to reflect on God's justice, provision, and grace. Psalm 119:121-152 highlights the steadfastness of God’s word and the comfort it brings during trials. Deuteronomy 3:1-11 recounts God's provision and victory over adversaries, reminding us of His power and faithfulness. In Matthew 26:6-29, Jesus shares a meal with His disciples, symbolizing His sacrifice and the new covenant. As we meditate on these passages, let us appreciate God's unwavering commitment to His promises, His provision in our lives, and the profound significance of Jesus’ sacrifice for our salvation.
Guiding Questions for todays reading:
- How does God’s word provide comfort and guidance in your life?
- In what ways have you experienced God's provision and victory over challenges?
- What does the significance of Jesus’ sacrifice mean to you personally?
Acerca de este Plan
This is the fifth part of a reading plan through the Bible, following the lectionary pattern of reading in the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament each day. In addition, each day this month will feature a memorization challenge for the Apostles' Creed, and there will be brief devotionals from different people in our Church scattered throughout the plan.
