Israel and the ChurchMuestra

Day 5 – Don’t look down on Israel
Paul warns us not to look down arrogantly on the Jewish people. The Church did not listen to that warning. Early on in church history, there was already the idea that the people of Israel had been rejected by God because the Jews allegedly crucified Jesus. Because of this perspective, terrible crimes were committed against Jews throughout the centuries.
And Paul wrote so clearly that God did not reject His people at all! That it was Jesus Himself who chose the way of the cross. And as He was being crucified, He prayed to God: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
The Lord Jesus does not assign blame but died and rose again in love for us all.
Pray today that all antisemitism, which is still present in the Church in our time, and all other wrong ideas about Israel will be taken away.
