He Takes Care of the Details

You know that I'm not a big fan of writing in the first person, because it seems like I'm putting a lot of feeling into what God wants to say... but today I couldn't help it. I hope it helps someone!

Can you imagine the power that a message on WhatsApp has? Just as it can end a life, a relationship, anything, it can also lift us up, and make us feel cared for by God. And for me, I can only be surprised at how much this God takes care of us even without us feeling worthy of His care. Yesterday I received a message that simply said "Boys, blessed week to all. I love you". I was already getting ready to live another tough day of stress at work, of discouragement at times, and of struggles that seem impossible to win...in short, just another ordinary day, lol...and didn't this message change everything? At almost 10 am I received this message, and my heart was filled with light. It felt like my lungs had been given a new lease of life. "Wow Will, that was so simple!" Yes, and it was!

We don't need devotions that are so elaborate (or not so elaborate, right?) for people to have a good day. Such a simple little phrase made me feel like God was taking care of the details. God uses us in the little things too (like in that silly little detail). There is no way to say that the Holy Spirit was not guiding the person who sent this. Maybe she didn't even know it; I didn't realize how sensitive to the Holy Spirit she was being. But I know she was. And the result of that? It makes me believe that God takes care of us with a SUPERNATURAL love...
