Real Hope: Discovering Hope in the Life of MosesMuestra
Moses Did See the Promised Land
God instructed Moses in Numbers chapter 20 to ‘speak to the rock’ to draw the water. In frustration with the people of God, Moses chose to strike the rock instead of speaking to it.
Water flows out abundantly, and the community probably felt like the mission was accomplished, but this was a big mistake. When Moses disobeyed God, God told Moses he would not enter the promised land. And yet, God still granted Moses a chance to see into the promised land from Mount Nebo. Moses then died in Moab and the Lord buried him. Some people may think, was that it for Moses, after all he went through, to be disqualified at the end of his race? But what I find breathtakingly glorious is when I read the story of the Transfiguration in Matthew 17:1–3 (NLT):
‘… Jesus took Peter and the two brothers, James and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone. As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed so that His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as light. Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared and began talking with Jesus.’
Here is Moses, on the Mount of Transfiguration. Inside the promised land. Qualified. Included. Restored. Put on display by the Father as a demonstration of what the kingdom looks like. Hanging out with Jesus in all of His glory and splendour. This, my friend, is the kingdom. You and me, brought into all of the fullness of God’s presence and promises, in spite of our failings.
Glory to God.

Acerca de este Plan
A series by Heidi Wysman. “Moses’ life is an example of leadership, servanthood and humility. His story gives us hope that God can use us even after we’ve failed. But most importantly, Moses’ life is a wonderful example of a journey of faith.” (Moses’ Journey Into Leadership – Heidi Wysman). May this plan encourage you that God knows all, sees all, and is with you through it all.
