Follow the Star: Discover the Heart of JesusMuestra
It’s an exciting time when you find out that you’re pregnant. You can’t wait to tell everybody, but there’s always a slight waiting period to make sure everything is OK, and then the first big day arrives when you get to say to your friends outside your close family that you’re expecting.
In recent years you’ve probably seen messages come across your social media feeds. People are doing gender reveal parties with exploding balloons filled with blue or pink powder. Maybe you’ve seen those videos where a mom and dad try to tell their only child that they’ve got a brother or sister. And that future older brother or sister breaks into tears and says, I want to be the only one.
Whether it’s planned out or a surprise, a baby changes everything. While in recent years, birth announcements have become popular, this isn’t a new idea. Two thousand years ago, a birth announcement of epic proportions appeared in the night sky. Some will say this is a planet and a star being aligned, so the star appeared to shine exceptionally bright. Some will say it was the birth of a new start, but whatever it was, our creator God was excited to tell his people the Savior would be born unto them. A baby would change a couple’s life, but that baby was our Savior who would change our world forever.
This Christmas, as you place your star on top of the Christmas tree or give cards with stars on them, you remember the most epic birth announcement ever.
Reflection Question:
God is communicating with us. He demonstrates his desire to have a relationship with him from the first to the last page of the bible; he reaches out to his people. He is speaking to us today through Jesus (Hebrew 1:1). In the past year, month or week, how has God reached out to you?
Jesus’ birth was so important that He lit up the sky to invite our response. Is there someone in your life that you need to help experience the real message of the star?
Prayer:
Lord, as we see the Star during this special time of year. Please help us to respond to your invitation. We pray for a more profound desire to respond as the Wiseman and the shepherds. As we see the stars on billboards, in videos, and on top of our trees, these are a reminder of your star. Your announcement, your proclamation, your desire to come near, your incredible gift, regardless of our surroundings when we see a Star at the moment, help us to go to Jesus and worship Him.

Acerca de este Plan
Discover the heart of Jesus this Christmas season as we follow the star in this seven-day devotional! The star led the Magi as they followed that glowing light for many days before it finally stopped over the place Jesus was, and there they worshipped Him. Discovering Jesus' heart means shining the light of His love this Christmas season, so others can follow that glow and find Him, too.
