HE CARES, HOW ABOUT US?
Abraham was truly a figure in the Bible whose life, obedience and heart’s attitude need to be imitated by us. When the promised son had not been given to him by God, he was not disappointed, nor did he leave God. To the contrary, he held onto the promise of God for his family.
Because of his faithfulness, God could not keep His plan for the city of Sodom and Gomora from Abraham. These two cities were known for their sinful people. Peoples' complaints against the conditions of these cities made God reveal His justice by destroying both cities.
Praise the Lord that before He executed His plan, He found Abraham who could share the burden of His heart. When Abraham heard of God’s plan, he bargained (interceded) with God so that He would not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, if He could find at least 10 righteous people. God agreed to Abraham’s request.
If we are disappointed and bitter with God, we will not care about other's difficulties and problems. Let us learn from Abraham to be God’s partner in the midst of our own struggles and problems. We do not focus our attention to our own life’s condition, but we care for the lives of other people around us by ministering and praying for them.
God knows what we are facing in our problems. He does not only know, He also cares to lift our struggles.
