TO BE RICH
Can Christians be rich? Isaac was blessed by the Lord and became very rich. When there was famine in his country, the Lord forbade Isaac to go to Egypt. He was asked to stay in Gerar, the area that belonged to the Philistines, and received abundant blessings from the Lord. He stayed and worked as a foreigner there. Isaac planted crops in that land and in the same year reaped a hundredfold. Wow!
Even though Isaac stayed with the Philistines and Abimelek, their king, none was as successful as Isaac. What is the secret of Isaac’s success? He obeyed and believed in the promise of God. He was not influenced by the situations around him, even though it was a famine period at that time. Isaac was not afraid of a step of faith by sowing, because he knew that God would fulfil His promise.
Christians are allowed to be rich as long as they do not love money or become proud and use the wealth to satisfy their own flesh desires. On the other hand, we know that God is the source of wealth. He will also bless us with wisdom, goodness, mercy and love.
Be rich in the Lord. Lord Jesus, who is rich, has become poor so that we who are poor could become rich in His love and mercy.
