Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 9Muestra

570 BC On Nebuchadnezzar’s return from his conquests the boasting king dreams of a felled tree, which as Daniel explains depicts his fall from power into a period of madness. After his healing in 563 BC, the king publicly gives honor to God. His successor, Evilmerodach shows Jeconiah favor. The forlorn exiles try to build confidence and trust in God and ask for His grace (but there are still 25 years of exile to go).
Note Daniel 4: This chapter was a copy of the official and public decree published by Nebuchadnezzar; a personal testimony and a state record enacted by this world-conquering king to honor God, the ‘King of heaven’. During his sickness Daniel provided his care (Talmud).
