Day 2: God Looks At The Heart

Think about how much time society spends focusing on outward appearances—clothing, filters on social media, or even physical beauty. Yet, none of these truly define who we are. The world often sees only what’s on the surface, but God sees the masterpiece beneath.

God sees you the way a jeweler sees a diamond. When diamonds are discovered, they are commonly buried beneath dirt, and when first viewed, they look like an ordinary rock to the untrained eye, but to a jeweler, it’s something precious waiting to be revealed. Likewise, God sees the treasure within you, even when others don’t recognize it.

When Samuel went to anoint the next king of Israel, he assumed the eldest and tallest of Jesse's sons would be chosen. But God reminded him and us that His Perspective is different. God chose David, not because he looked the part, but because his heart was fully surrendered to Him.

God’s selection of David is similar to the discovery of a diamond. It reminds us that He sees what others overlook. While people often focus on outward qualifications, God prioritizes the heart. Your worth isn’t based on what people see but on who God says you are. He knows you fully and has Called you intentionally.
