Multiplying the Gospel // Gospel X - Multiplying the Message

DAY 6 OF 7

This short parable about the growing seed is helpful for every believer. After the seed is sown, the farmer can only wait for it to grow. Once the gospel is shared, it is God’s responsibility to let it grow. Everything that is needed for growth is already in the seed, in the gospel. It is like division of labour. Jesus commissioned his followers to share the gospel; after that, it is up to God. Once you have finished your task, the weight is off your shoulders. This is a relieving passage. Don’t overburden yourself. Don’t take responsibility for something you cannot be responsible for. Do whatever God commanded you (and all other followers of Christ) and then leave the rest to God.

God does not burden you with something you cannot carry. Contrary, He lets you play a part in His story. You are allowed to contribute to His grand story without being responsible. This is a huge gift and it takes the weight off of your shoulders. Be aware of what is in your responsibility and what is not. You can pray for nonbelievers both in person and in your prayer time, you can share the gospel, you can share stories you experienced with God etc. You can do this regularly and pray that those people will at some point accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, but this decision is up to them.

Therefore, concentrate on what is your part and let God do the rest. This is a freedom you are allowed to embrace.

About this Plan

Multiplying the Gospel // Gospel X - Multiplying the Message

Jesus left the church the vision of a movement when he challenged us to reproduce from our own Jerusalem into “Judea, Samaria and the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). For us to see a movement, we need every Christ follower to adopt Jesus' personal mission to “seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10). Evangelism is core to the mission of Jesus and essential to accomplishing his vision. This plan is part of a 5 week journey around the topic of Gospel X - Multiplying the Gospel
