Praying Scripture Over Your HusbandSample
Complete Peace
Many demands are placed upon a husband, many of which are burdens that, as wives, we never know they carry. These can all become demands that leave them stressed out and lacking peace. And a stressed-out husband longing for peace is a perfect setup for a husband to become tempted to reach out for anything that will offer him a physical and mental break. Like we are vulnerable to settling for the quick fix or comfort, your husband is too.
The Lord tells us that those quick fixes don't work and won't bring us the peace they entice. True peace comes from the Father, not anything of this world. It is a gift he has left us and given us. His peace surpasses all understanding and doesn't leave us longing for more, unlike the temporary peace we seek, which wears off quickly.
Your husband, whether he admits it or is even aware of it, longs for peace and will thrive much more in all he does when it rules in his heart over the many stresses and burdens that weigh him down. Go to the Lord today on his behalf and ask him to pour out his peace on your husband.
Let's Pray:
Dear Lord, you are the God of peace, not of chaos. In you, there is no stress or overwhelm. I ask that you pour out your peace over my husband. Clear his schedule from all things that would distract, create pressure, or derail him from what you have for him. Use me as his wife as a resource for him, a safe place where he can share his burdens and stressors. Keep him from running to anything unhealthy emotionally or physically that would numb him or provide temporary relief from any stress. May he run to you instead and align his life with your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.
