Do Not Let Shame Make You Cower in Front of Me
Did you read yesterday’s Flag message, Day 1? Here is Part 2:
“You know I know you. You know I love you. You know I want to hold you up, help you, so it feels like you are not drifting. Let me give you a new picture: you are in the middle of the raging ocean, yes—but on a boat that is no longer tossed about; it is a boat tethered to a love that does more than keep you afloat. It keeps you—despite the gusts of wind, the torrent of the current, the dark clouds threatening to storm and rain—with me, in love and safe.
"You live in a world that is not your own. It is a world with raging pain, with desperate pain. It calls out, and I hear its cries. I love the people of this world. I love you. And my love protects, helps, shields, and strengthens you. Do not let shame make you cower in front of me now. Stand up. Stand before me. I am with you in the waves—the raging seas of the world, and I will never leave you. Even when you ignore me, forget me, and separate yourself from me by wanting to do things on your own.
"I never leave. I am always here, wanting to tether you with my love and keep you grounded so that when you look up, not necessarily beyond the waves but despite them, they will exist in the distance now. The waves will not be the main things you see; your priority is to struggle against and conquer—as you find a better way to survive them. Rather, you will feel them quieted around you because your gaze is on me. After all, your heart recognizes it is tethered and never alone. You are moving deeper into your inheritance—all my love. And with this love, you can do anything, anything at all. And the waves, while you are in the midst of them, feel a memory around you. But not me. I am not the memory now. I am what you know. I am whom you love. I am what is much, much more real.”
Can you picture it? Can you picture yourself and God together?
