Let Me Help You Access Your Heart
One of the things the Holy Spirit instructs us to do is to pause, to slow for a moment so we can better let him in. He says, “Give yourself a moment. Let me help you access your heart. ... You see, my child, I know.”
When he says that he “knows,” what does that mean to you? What does he know about you? What problem are you facing? What question are you trying to figure out? What decision are you approaching? What emotion are you feeling?
Will you join us in giving him access to our hearts now? Will you join us in stopping the scrolling, pausing from going on to the next thing, and first, for just a moment or two, turning our gaze upon our Father, Christ, and our Counselor who is with us, in us, right now?
What is he saying? What does he know about what you are going through? What conversation can you have with him now? How do you need him? What does he want to give you?
It is always love. He always wants to give you love. What does it look like to receive his love at this moment right now? Will you let him show you?
Let him in—just a bit more.
You are so loved.
You are so loved.
You are so loved.
Come. Stay here. A bit longer now.
Close your eyes. Open your hands. Turn your imagination toward him and see his face. What is he doing? What emotion is on his face? How does he look at you now?
It is one of the most powerful actions we can ever do: give God access to our hearts. Time with him changes us.
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10, ESV).
Tell us how you are feeling ... even one word to let us know how we can pray for you.
