Philippians 2:5 NLT “Think as Christ Jesus thought."
Have you ever thought that the images you hold in your mind are a result of what you think and believe. Now, reverse it and it’s still true. The images you hold in your mind always determine what you think and believe. Your attitudes, your mental concepts and pictures, your beliefs and the way you view life are your connections with God’s rich supply and your access to it; if your attitudes, pictures, and beliefs are negative, they form your connection to experiencing lack, frustration and want.
God can only do for you what He can do through you, by means of the beliefs, thoughts, and ideas you hold which ultimately lead to your actions or lack thereof.
Pastor Justin in his message “Don’t Settle” asked the question ‘Why do we settle?” His answer was stunning and simple, he said “Because it's easier in the short term.” Ouch! He went on to say, ”it’s also because we believe we’ll never have better than what we currently have, so we settle for less.”
It is of utmost importance we understand that when we do settle for less than God’s best, it started out as a thought. Now thoughts are seeds and when planted within us, take root and can bear the fruit we don't want. He went on to teach us the flip side saying, “that there's something extremely gratifying, when we don't settle, when we make the choice to hold out for God's best!" Now for that to happen we’ll need to introduce ourselves to new thoughts, new mental photos.
Think of it like this: if you want better financial conditions in your life, then don’t picture or talk about financial lack, but began thinking, picturing, and talking in terms of God’s rich abundance for your life. At all times keep in mind that God’s supply is inexhaustible. Believing that He wants to lavishly and abundantly supply you and refresh you with everything you need, so you can enjoy the life He has paid for and prepared for you!
Reflection: God’s desire to bless you can only be measured against the price He paid, when He gave us His Son.
