Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample
Be a Doer of the Word
Steve Jobs dropped out of college, but he continued studying calligraphy at Reed College for 18 months. Jobs told Stanford’s graduates, “When we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never have had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, it’s likely that no personal computer would have them.”
Only head knowledge never benefits anyone. Knowing that you have to reach a place at a particular time isn’t going to make any difference, unless you make the effort to leave early and actually be on time. Similarly, the blessings of the Word of God cannot manifest in our lives until we actually act on it.
We know that it’s by grace we have been saved through faith, and that not of ourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works (Ephesians 2:8-9a). While this is entirely true, what we do after we have been saved does reflect in our actions. If we truly are to shine for God, we cannot continue living the same life we used to, before being saved. If something changed inside us when Jesus entered our lives, something must change in the way we live and in what we do.
James 1:22 encourages us not to just hear the Word of God with one ear and let it go out from the other, but allow it to seep in, touch our hearts and change something in us. When we do, we demonstrate how awesome our God is and that He is able to change lives.
Prayer
Father God, I thank You that Your Word is living and active; it is able to transform my life. I pray that I might be a doer of Your Word and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan
It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
