Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample

Let God Have His Way
Naaman was the commander of the army of Aram. He was held in high regard by the king and had led Aram to several victories. He had everything he needed. There was only one problem; he had leprosy. When he found out that there was a prophet in Samaria who could heal him, he set out to meet this prophet. When he reached there, he was expecting a grand welcome. After all, he was a celebrity of sorts. However, the prophet Elisha didn’t even come out to see him. He just sent some instructions through his servant. And the instructions too, were quite weird. “Go wash yourself seven times in the Jordan.” Surely he hadn’t come all the way from Damascus to dip in a dirty river. After all, there were rivers in Damascus as well… better ones than the Jordan.
Often, especially as we move higher up in rank and position, we have some preconceived notions about what God should do and how He should do it. It becomes harder for us to accept instructions and strategies that undermine our authority and power on earth. We want God to act in a manner that will bring us glory, just like Naaman expected Elisha to come out and call on God in all His power.
But God has different plans. His ways and thoughts are higher than ours. It’s about His glory, not ours. Often, He will tell us to do things that make no natural sense. But spiritually it will stir things up and win the battle for you. Telling God what to do after we have come to Him for a solution is pointless.
Step back and let Him step in! Just like Naaman got his healing when he obeyed, so also your success will be guaranteed in like manner.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the plans You have for me. I know that they are good. I choose to follow in the path You show me, and trust You completely. Amen.
