Man Prays, God Reveals
Before Saul’s life was miraculously changed, he persecuted Christians. On the road to Damascus, he had an encounter with his Savior and became zealous for the kingdom of God, and devoted himself to carrying the gospel to the ends of the earth. Through persecution and hardship, he pressed on to fight the good fight of faith, praying and encouraging others he met along the way.
Many of us have loved ones who have not experienced the love of the Father. At times, while trying to tell them about Jesus, we have faced rejection and ridicule. We wonder whether they will ever be saved and connect with their Creator. Paul encourages us to pray without ceasing and in every thing give thanks (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18). It may be difficult for us to bring our loved ones to the knowledge of Jesus. However, we need to continue to pray and intercede for their salvation.
If Christ revealed Himself to a man who persecuted Christians, He can definitely speak to our loved ones. One encounter with Jesus caused a huge change in Paul’s life and he went on to write numerous letters that are now a part of the New Testament in the Bible. In the same way, as we pray and intercede, God will move mountains and He will reveal Himself to our loved ones.
I believe our prayers and tears will never be wasted. The Lord bottles every tear (Psalm 56:8) and waters the hardened heart to soften it, so that the incorruptible seed of the Word of God may take root and grow into a fruitful tree. Let us never give up, but continue to trust God to work in people’s lives as we intercede for them. Remember, He is faithful and hears and answers every prayer in due time.
Prayer
Father, I pray that when everything fails and I’m unable to make a difference in my loved ones’ lives, I will keep praying for them. I believe that You will work and cause their hearts to turn to You very soon. Amen.
