Precious Moments That Count For EternitySample
Admired by God
God is all knowing and sees all things. He made a remarkable statement about Job; a statement that instils security, confidence and trust in God. At a time when all of mankind has fallen, to receive a commendation like this from God is exemplary.
Can we too be like Job? The answer is affirmative.
Let’s see why Job became God’s favorite. Did he never sin? We know this is not true. It would contradict the Holy Scriptures. He must have fallen, but every day he would look to God and trust in the atoning sacrifices which he offered daily. He was perfected by reviving God’s acceptance on a daily basis.
God did not look at Job’s sin nor was He disturbed by his shortcomings. Job started every day by receiving God’s mercy and grace. His humble attitude and reverential fear kept him on God’s side.
Today, all sacrifices on our behalf have been perfected by Jesus once and for all. There is no need at all for a daily sacrifice. We can become righteous and perfected by focusing on the crucified Jesus. He is the vine and we are the branches (John 15:5). The more we draw from Him, the more we shall be like Him.
How do we draw from Jesus? The answer is in John 6:48. Jesus is the bread of life. Draw from Him the nourishment for your spirit, soul and every cell in your body; make this your daily priority and you will receive the same commendation that Job received from God.
Prayer
Lord, I come to You like a dry sponge. Soak me in Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
