Day 3 - Co- Laboring with community
Here is the ultimate key to seeing the kingdom of God manifest on earth. The Bible says that the harvest is plenty, but laborers are few. We need as many people as possible to steward this harvest. Not a divided one, but a united group of laborers or friends. The harvest of the kingdom is plenty. To say that one church, one family or one passionate believer is enough to handle it, is an understatement. We need every passionate believer, church and family that is available working together to orchestrate the move of God.
God desires for us to walk in excellence in every area of our lives. When we live as a body we stop comparing and competing with other churches or ministries and start to protect and celebrate each other. When we pursue community; we also pursue excellence. When we walk in excellence the world looks up to us. We see in the story of Nehemiah, he gathers all the skilled, strong, creative and common people who have the same desire and calling to rebuild the wall. We also see how they were strong together in times of trouble and finished what they had started.
God created us intentionally to work together and to live in community. In fact, The whole point of going to church isn’t just to listen to the word, pray and worship God but to develop a lifestyle of living in community. In Matthew 6, the Lord’s Prayer starts with “Our Father” not my father. If we want to see His kingdom manifest on earth, we need to start working with people. Sometimes feeling like not wanting to work with anyone could be the result of an orphan spirit. Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, that two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor.
We also see that in Acts, how because of everybody fellowshipping together they were able to see many salvations.
When we begin to invite and co-labor with people in our workplace, in our creative field, let go of control and insecurities and build a community, we will grow, learn and challenge each other to move forward into a greater place of influence and favor in the world.
Activation:
- Ask God to highlight places in your heart and in your life where you have shut people off.
- Ask God to give you the strength to become vulnerable with others again.
- Ask God to highlight people around you who you can work with.
