PRICELESS: Respect & HonorSample
IN PROTECTION OF THE PRINCESS – CHIVALRY IN ACTION
From the celebrity influence with marketing their bodies, to the media moguls of New York City using beauty to sell products, to the guy setting up his porn site, to the soulless purveyors of the sex trade…one thing they all have in common is turning a woman who should be esteemed into an object to be used (maybe possessed instead of used). Chivalry does not come easily; instead it must be chosen, practiced, and intentional.

Read Romans 12:9-13
1. Can you think of situations where love might be “insincere”?
2. How do you respond to “evil” (think about revealing, those videos you never want your parents to discover – that kind of thing)? Do you tend to accommodate it, make excuses for it, look the other way – or do you “hate” it?
3. How have you seen men “honor” others above themselves? Do you think you could develop that skill?
4. Sharing what you have – the things you own, your talents, your time, your attention – is clearly a part of this Bible passage. How can guys show that kind of giving and sharing attitude?
Read Acts 20:35
1. Did you notice what helping the weak requires? (Hard work)
2. Why would helping the weak demand such effort?
3. What is the payoff for expending that much energy?
Read 2 Timothy 2:22
1. How would you define “evil desires of youth”?
2. How do those things contrast with righteousness, faith, love, and peace?
3. How might young men show young women those godly qualities?
4. Notice that this pursuit is not to be done alone. How do your friends encourage a heart of chivalry?
Men of chivalry communicate by their actions, deeds, and words that women are not commodities, disposable playthings, or tools to be used. Rather, men of integrity show by their actions that women are children of royalty, the princess of the Most High King, and deserving of behavior that reflects their true position.
About this Plan
Joel and Luke Smallbone of the band for KING & COUNTRY share their hearts on the lost art of chivalry and celebrating a woman's worth. The 5-day plan is inspired by the feature film PRICELESS, a love story, drama, thriller, and includes a daily video from the band as well as a devotional with questions to ponder as a group or individual.
