In our over-scheduled world, it's hard to imagine that we could be more productive by simply taking a rest … but it’s true! In the movie FAMILY CAMP, both the Ackerman and Sanders families find renewal and respite by taking a break at camp. It’s similar to the idea of a weekly Sabbath that God asks you to partake in.

In today’s video, Tommy and Eddie share reasons why you need to take a break!

By resting one day out of each week, we can pause and listen more closely to what God has to say and offer our serene thanks and praise back to him. God modeled this for us. After He created the world, God took a break as he rested on the seventh day. Resting is so important that God included it as one of the Ten Commandments, telling us to “keep the sabbath day holy.”

Maybe your life is filled with kids and carpooling, meetings and memos, or simply flooded with anxious thoughts. No matter what your daily life looks like, we are each called to make space for a day of rest every week.

So, as Tommy said, “Go find your smile!”
