Sometimes whole-life discipleship looks like using our creativity for good.

My frontline is my job as a musician and music producer. I can feel the presence of God as I create the message for each project – I want to bring a sense of His spirit into the production and feel of the track. People often say they can feel a strong send of peace and calm while listening to my music.

Despite pressures to conform to popular messaging and culture and prioritize what will ‘sell’ above authenticity, I still work to create music that spreads peace and joy. Being able to release my music or produce and write with other artists across various genres is a great opportunity.

Reflection

Our creative God is in the creative business.

Bezalel is an early biblical reminder that God blesses and empowers certain people with understanding, knowledge, and skills to make artistic work. His skills were used first for the place of worship and gathering – but we can also celebrate God at work through people in a whole range of creative fields today, church-based or not.

Navina seeks to reflect the character of God throughout her work as a musician and music producer. She also recognizes that her industry can have certain pressures and works to stay true to her priorities: using music to bring God’s joy and peace to others.

While some people have particular creative gifts, God has made us all, in His image, as creative beings. How can you use your creative ability for Him today?

Prayer

Lord, I picture those who work in specific creative work today, asking You to bless and empower their work. Thank You that you’ve given us all creativity. Help me see the opportunities to be creative, particularly if I don’t often think of myself that way. Help me seek greater guidance by Your Spirit and a greater sense of Your presence in my tasks today.
