Do you ever go out into the countryside or the park for a day? What sort of things do you like to take to eat?

The people in the story were so interested in hearing what Jesus had to say that they forgot all about bringing something to eat. There was just one boy who had brought food with him. Have a look at verse 9 to see what he had in his picnic.

The boy gave his lunch to Jesus. But it wasn’t much good for all those people. Or was it? Remember that Jesus could do amazing things.

First, Jesus told his friends to make all the people sit down.

Secondly, he said thank you to God for the fish and bread.

Thirdly, he gave the food to the people.

But surely there wasn't enough for all those people? Look at verse 11 to see what happened.

Everyone had enough. What does that tell you about Jesus?

Pray: “Dear Jesus, help me to be willing to share my things with others.”
