Life Not Going as Planned? How to Get Unstuck and Trust God Now!Sample
There is a story told of a man who was walking alone through a graveyard in the middle of the night. In the dark, he fell into an empty, freshly dug grave.
Panicked, he began clawing frantically at the sides of the hole, only to find the mud breaking off and collecting under his fingernails. He tried to jump and grab the top edge of the hole, but his hands kept slipping.
Exhausted, he paused for a moment, bent at the waist, hands on his knees. Suddenly a voice behind him said, “Yeah, I couldn’t get out either.”
Amazingly, the man was now motivated enough to make his way out of that pit!
This is how it is for us in life sometimes. We find ourselves in a situation that feels like it could qualify as a pit, and we have no idea how we will get out of it. We feel like the walls of the pit are closing in on us. Then, our Savior hears our cry and rescues us out of the miry clay of the pit. Not only does He pull us from the clay, but He sets our feet on a rock.
Like many Psalms, this one is a Messianic Psalm. It reflects the suffering of Jesus as He took our sin upon Himself. He allowed Himself to be put into a grave even though He had done nothing wrong. He willingly chose to become the sacrifice for our sin. The story does not end there. On the third day, He rose from the grave showing that death has no power over Him and our sins are paid in full.
Action: Take some time today to thank your Savior for all that He has done for you!
