Reset My Will
Suddenly everything falls apart. Have you ever had one of those moments when life suddenly seems to spiral down and shatter into a million pieces? Jesus was facing that moment.
His follower, Judas, betrays Him. Jesus is arrested, beaten, and found guilty, though he committed no crime. His closest friend, Peter, follows behind, but then denies that he even knows Jesus three times.
By every account, Jesus’s life and His story are coming to an end.
But look for what Jesus prays before all of this unfolds:
“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
This is the prayer we need to pray before bad things happen and then hold on to. If you’re in a good season in life, pray for God’s will to be done, so that even when storms come, you’ll have Him as an anchor. And if you’re in the middle of a storm, hold on just a little bit longer.
The night gets darkest just before the dawn.
