Fervent: Fight Fear With Faith Sample
As Christians, we have one singular task in life – to learn to die to ourselves daily. Each day we are faced with situations, people, circumstances, and issues that force us to acknowledge our frailty. At each point we are given a choice – to humble ourselves and “die” to our desires, needs, inclinations, and wishes or defiantly stand for our rights, force our decisions, and forge our way. This choice is not new. It has been presented to us since Adam and Eve. Nor is the outcome a mystery. We know that if we lay down our lives, we actually gain glorious, eternal treasure. Yet, we struggle. But that is not what our Lord wants for us. So each day, we can come to Him and seek His strength to lay down our lives; to die to ourselves. Just like He did at the cross. During this pandemic, may we learn the art of “dying well”.
Pray that:
• We will choose to die to ourselves daily.
• We will allow God’s will to reign supreme, not ours.
• Our lives will be characterized by humility and meekness.
