Love God Greatly: EmpoweredSample
In Paul’s final address to the elders of Ephesus, he shared his heart for them and reminded them of valuable truths. Paul had grown close to the church in Ephesus and leaving them brought great sorrow. Even though he desired to stay with them, Paul recognized they were in God’s hands.
God would provide for the church in Ephesus the same way God provided for Paul. Because Paul was a tentmaker by trade, he was able to do the work of ministry without needing financial support. God provided for him through his profession. His example allowed those who supported him to meet the needs of the weak and those who were truly in need.
No matter our financial position, God calls us to give. When we faithfully give to those in need and to the spread of the gospel, we can to see God’s provision in extraordinary ways. By giving to others we trust God to provide for our own needs and we practice faith in Him. When we provide for those in need we are a testimony to the world that our possessions are not our own, but gifts from our generous heavenly Father.
Father God, You are generous and gracious. You have always provided for my every need. Help me to trust You with my resources and not hoard and hold on to them out of fear. Give me a generous heart to give to others and provide for the needs of those around me. Amen.

About this Plan
Empowered: Yesterday and Today is a deep study of the book of Acts. As we study the early church and the spread of the gospel we hope to find encouragement and strength to continue spreading the message of the gospel in our spheres of influence. God empowered the early church to share the gospel every single day, and He does the same for us, even now.
