GO2020 | ENGAGE: June Week 1 - ABIDESample
June 5—Faithful People
Read
2 Timothy 2:2
Reflect
In the early years of the church, the discipling process followed the pattern that the apostle Paul used with Timothy and Titus. What he had received from the Lord, he passed on to them. They, in turn, transmitted the teachings of the apostles to other faithful people who then taught others. After several centuries, the teachings of Jesus and the apostles were united (canonized) in what we now know as the New Testament. Our charge continues to be the same. We teach new believers what has been passed on to us. Over time they are prepared to teach others, continuing the process.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, 2 Timothy 2:2. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan
Fulfilling the Great Commission does not happen by dropping gospel grenades and walking away. We fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples who are trained and equipped to also make disciples! This is multiplication! We teach new believers to obey all Jesus commanded. This will take time, commitment, and energy.
