I Need a MiracleSample
Believe in the Messiah
Miracles prove that Jesus is God and that He is the Messiah. There are many people who believe in Jesus but do not believe that He is the Messiah. You may have heard from others that Jesus is a good teacher—which He is—but that is not all that He is. You may have heard that Jesus is a peacekeeper and pacifist. That’s true, Jesus is all about peace, but we cannot forget nor can we disbelieve that Jesus is also the Messiah. He is the Son of God, and miracles prove that He was sent from God. He’s not just some guy who showed up in Bethlehem, then headed to Nazareth, walked on water in Galilee, and ended up being crucified in Jerusalem. He is the Son of God, and His miracles prove it.
In the book of Luke, when Jesus healed a paralyzed man, He tells him, “But so you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins—Get up, pick up your mat and walk home” (Luke 5:24). Who can forgive sins? God.
In the book of John, a man acknowledged that Jesus was not only a rabbi and teacher but indeed the Messiah because no one could perform such miracles unless God were with Him. Jesus says, “But I have greater testimony than John’s because of the works that the Father has given Me to accomplish. These very works I am doing testify about Me that the Father has sent Me” (John 5:36).
In the book of Matthew, we get to read about Jesus walking on water. After that, the storm calms, He gets into the boat, sits down, and the disciples say, “Truly, You are the Son of God” (Matthew 14:33). Why? Because they had witnessed a miracle.
Jesus proves that He is the Messiah and the Son of God through His miraculous power. It is not sleight of hand. It is not smoke and mirrors. It is not a magic trick. It is not some kind of show to have you say, “Wow,” and leave your money on the ticket counter. Miracles show that Jesus is God and that He is the Messiah. I encourage you to believe in miracles today. Pray to Him for the miracle you need in your life.
