Fear Busters (Week 2)Sample
Day 6 - God is my Saviour!
READ:
“The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Saviour. My God is my rock. I can run to Him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my high tower.” (Psalm 18:2 ICB).
Today we are learning God is our saviour! Saviour means “a person who saves someone or something from danger or difficulty.”
We all do bad things sometimes, this could be shouting at your Brother or Sister, telling tales or lies, being angry, being unkind. Sometimes we may not do as our parents ask us to do or do something they have asked us not to do. God knows that humans do bad things, these bad things are called sin. Sin separates us from God, so God sent Jesus to pay the price for our sin by dying on the cross for us, so that we can have a relationship with God. God saved us from our sin - God is our saviour.
Earlier this week, we learnt that God gives us His armour to help us. We learnt all about the shield of faith which helps us to choose to believe that God is with us and be brave when we are afraid or feel wobbly. Another part of the armour of God is the helmet of salvation. This protects our mind - just in the same way your helmet protects us when we are riding a bike or scooter. God gives us the helmet of salvation to protect our mind from thoughts of fear and doubt. Sometimes we may think scary thoughts, or worry about things, when this happens we can put on our helmet and remember that God is our saviour - He saves us.
ASK:
What things do you worry about that you can use your helmet of salvation to help you?
Maybe you could make a helmet of salvation - there are some wonderful ideas on Pinterest. We would love to see what you make!
REMEMBER:
“The Lord is my rock, my protection, my Saviour. My God is my rock. I can run to Him for safety. He is my shield and my saving strength, my high tower.” (Psalm 18:2 ICB).
FEARBUSTER PRAYER:
You are bigger than my fears, You wipe away my tears. I have a voice to pray, You teach me what to say. I am brave because of You! This sickness just won’t do. We tell it now to quit, we've had enough of it!

About this Plan
Welcome to Fear Busters! In this devotional series, we'll be looking at how to overcome fear through Jesus. When we’re surrounded by illness and uncertainty Jesus tells us to keep our eyes fixed on Him! This week we’re learning that God is our protector, reading about Noah and through our memory verse in Psalm 18:2!
