Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
Lord Most High
Psalm 47:2, 7-9
“How awesome is the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth!…For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne…for the kings of the earth belong to God; he is greatly exalted.”
Our understanding of who God is, relative to the nations, the kings and rulers of nations, and all earthly authority, determines how we pray and worship. When we understand that God is the Creator of all things, the Ruler of all authorities, it changes how we intercede. We begin from a place of worship, surrender and humility. We declare with faith and boldness, God’s word and promises. We are grateful for all that we have received, realizing that God assigns our inheritance. We also realize that all earthly kings and authorities must submit to God’s rule and authority. They will not receive the worship that is due to God Most High.
Lord God Almighty, you are awesome in holiness, splendor and love. I thank you that your rule extends to every nation, king and land. May your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
