Overcomers and the Kingdom
Daniel 7:27
“Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.”
Luke 4:5-7
“The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, ‘I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me, it will all be yours.’ ”
Jesus overcame Satan’s temptation, and offer of the kingdoms of the world, through humility and worship of the Most High God alone. Jesus’ death and resurrection freed mankind from the authority of the world, the flesh and the devil and gave all of us a choice.
Which kingdom and authority will we serve?
Overcomers in Christ’s kingdom choose every day to resist Satan’s temptations of authority and power and glory so that they offer the world around them a living alternative in following Jesus and His way. At the creation of the world God gave us the authority over this world. Through our sin and Adam’s and Eve’s rebellion against God, we abdicated that authority to Satan. Through Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection on our behalf we can receive that destiny back. Those who know this truth live transformationally in all spheres of society because Christ’s kingdom has come and we overcame. He will transform all things.
To Him be the glory!
