Return – to Be a Blessing
Jeremiah 4:1-4
“If you will return, O Israel, return to me,” declares the Lord. “If you put your detestable idols out of my sight and no longer go astray, and if in a truthful, just and righteous way, you swear, ‘As surely as the Lord lives,’ then the nations will be blessed by him and in him they will glory.”
Our choices have implications far beyond what we can see in the moment. God’s call to His people to return to Him and leave their rival lovers and idols was a call to be the people of God once again - call to be a city on a hill that could point the nations back to God as well. When we humble ourselves in a truthful, just and righteous way before God – we are breaking up the unplowed ground of our hearts so that God’s truth will bear fruit and others will be blessed. We are always blessed to be a blessing. That is God’s mission strategy!
Lord Jesus, I humble myself before you and thank you for your blessings and promises – unto your mission purposes in my life.
