AbandonSample
You’ve probably heard the phrase ‘hearts abandoned’. What does it mean? It means that even though we have desires in our hearts (whether good or bad desires), we’re willing to leave all those desires behind for something far more important.
Just for an example, let’s apply that to this statement: “I’m living hearts abandoned for football”. This means that everything you would normally be doing is going to be put on hold if it interferes with your football time.
Same thing for your boyfriend or girlfriend: All those things you used to do with your other friends are put on hold because you’re spending all your time in that relationship.
Don’t miss this though: We’re called to live ‘hearts abandoned for God’. If we’re doing that, we’re going to ensure NOTHING gets in the way between us and God.
This means that you love Him so much, that you’re willing to set aside everything to follow Him. The twelve Apostles of Jesus understood this clearly, and almost all of them were killed for their faith (in horrible ways, too). They didn’t just set aside their personal preferences; they were willing to give their very lives for Christ. That’s what it means to live hearts abandoned!
While we won’t necessarily have to die for Christ like the Apostles (and countless others) did, I do have to ask: How can you LIVE for Christ? What will it take for you to fully surrender to Christ? It requires more than just words, but your attitudes, your desires, to be living Christ-like every day.
Our prayer is that you’ve been blessed by this study, and that you will continually live hearts abandoned for God!

About this Plan
What does it mean to FEEL abandoned? How can we help those who ARE abandoned? What do we NEED to abandon? For this youth study, we will talk about God's heart for the abandoned, and what we as followers of Christ need to do about it.
