It is completely amazing to me that the Son of God, the one to whom nature listens and who has the angels at his beck and call should condescend to wash the dusty, dirty feet of his disciples. But we can learn a few things from Jesus actions here. We must be willing to be humble. We are not too good to do even the lowliest job. We must consider others better than ourselves. But it’s not enough to simply talk about it, this humility should be seen in the way we serve our friends and those around us. Are we willing to bless and consider others better than ourselves by setting aside our comfort, ease and preferences? We can start by practicing this with the people we say we love the most, like our spouses, children and parents.
